Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me.
- Jesus
1 Corinthians 14:33.
What is this photo supposed to portray. Does it mean something, or is it just a quote on a random picture?
I chose this photo along with this verse (not exactly a “quote”) because I used the light as a symbolism of God and His light. As for the photo overall, I personally felt a peaceful atmosphere as well. In my own perspective, I had this photo connect to the verse.. again, in my own perspective. Peaceful mood from the photo, then God being Peace himself. The light in the photo, then God being the Light himself. Now, you see the light is alone against the sky. The composition is not busy - illustrating the fact that God is not a God of confusion. I personally feel that if this verse was against a busy composition, the desired attention from its viewers would not be the same. They’d probably feel more confusion, rather than peace. But of course, it all depends right. As some of my close friends and family know, a lot of my work have pictures or icons of birds. It slowly and eventually came to people’s mind that it was some kind of trademark of mine. Well, then sure. But the reason I had those somewhere on my artwork was because I had them symbolize salvation, redemption, and liberation through Christ. Anyone can call me lame for how I connect verses with my work, but I have my points of views and my work is certainly not limited to just my perspective. There are probably other people out there who get something different out of this. Some people, they don’t get anything from it at all. It is the same thing for every other form of art that is out there.
